Welcome to The True Crime Kitchen. You’ve found a true crime food blog! The author (and now podcast voice as well) behind this project is me, Kourtney, a food loving & crime obsessed gal just trying my best to share stories and recipes that tie both my biggest interests together.
This is a place for:
Unrepentant foodies who find themselves watching crime shows and wishing they would talk more about the restaurants where the victims were last seen. I’ll dig up the information whenever possible so we can savor all the details.
Those who relish hearing about the last meal selections of death row inmates. From the weird to the mundane, I’ll cover the last meals of the dead men walking and tell you what they did (or didn’t do) to end up meeting the executioner.
Anyone curious about the final meals mobsters feasted on before getting whacked. Spoiler alert: it’s mostly Italian eats. But perhaps there will still be a few surprise dishes getting massacred by a group of suavely-styled “legitimate businessmen” as well.
Satisfying your morbid curiosity about the last meals of famous people. Between murder, suspicious circumstances, drugs, and crooked managers, I’m sure I can rope in some on-topic cases and dishes. For funsies I’ll also cover the crime-free (but not fat-free!) celebrity deaths and eats as they have a lot of food attached as well.
From dates gone wrong, to poisoners trying to collect that life insurance payout, to killer chefs & or violent customers, you can find it all here eventually. Food can be a lure, a comfort, a weapon, or a final request. I’ll cover all the links between crime and food so hopefully you’ll be inspired to keep your doors locked and your pantry stocked.
